F.A.Q.

We will always be happy to answer your questions but there are some which we are always being asked so here are the answers:

Q: What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photojournalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?

A: We like to think we can cover all of these to one degree or another and we definately try to mix some of each into every wedding we photograph. However we only produce storybook albums so our style tends to run with this in mind.

Q: Do you shoot in colour or black and white? Or both? Do you shoot in a digital format that can create both colour and b/w versions of the same picture?

A: We now shoot exclusively in colour onto digital media – that gives us the choice after the day itself. We are frequently asked if we can shoot in black and white but we’ve found from experience that when presented with both colour and black and white most brides end up including the colour pictures rather than the monochrome one in their album. The truth is we love black and white but we’re really not sure if a wedding is the ideal subject – but that is a purely personal view!

Q: What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots? Can we give you a shot list to work from?

A: Of course you can give us a list – actually the first time we meet we’ll give you a give you a good idea of what we cover on the day. This is one of the objectives in meeting you, we need to know what you want, if there are any special shots you would like you only have to say!

Q: Are you the wedding photographer who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?

A: The simplest question of all! Yes – whoever you meet will be your photographer.

Q: Can we meet any assistants who will be helping you on the day?

A: Yes!

Q: How many years have you worked specifically as a wedding photographer? How many were similar to the size and formality of our wedding?

A: 1983 was the first wedding I ever did. I ‘ve lost count of the number. (Now I feel old)

Q: How many other events will you also photograph that weekend?

A: None – we only cover one wedding and only 10 per year - you have our full attention.

Q: What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?

A: Our aim will be to bring the equipment we need! We also prefer to be mobile and to use the grounds of your chosen venue and natural light if at all possible. However, in the car will be studio lights, tripods, spare cameras, spare batteries, reflectors and allsorts of other equipment – just in case! We try to remember this is your wedding – not a photo shoot!

Q: Can we buy the digital hi-res files?

A:Yes and you are free to print from them or order from us.

Above are questions we are asked. However there are some questions you should ask yourself. We like to meet the bride and groom – as far as we are concerned they are our clients, we simply don’t care who’s paying for our services our only aim is to please you! Therefore here are two questions you should ask yourself after meeting us…

1. Do I like this person? Do I get along with them or get a good feeling from them?

2 . Do I like their work as a wedding photographer? Is it well lit, focused, well framed? Looking at their books, do I feel like I have a good feeling for the wedding?

If you can answer yes to those two questions everything will be fine!
